Lloyds Banking Group to Close 26 Branches Through October

Lloyds Banking Group will close 26 branches across its Lloyds Bank and Halifax brands throughout October. The process begins next week with the closure of eight locations, including a branch in Rochdale and others in Barnsley, Birmingham, Camborne, Chatham, Chepstow, Deal, and Ryde.

The closures, which will continue through October 21, are driven by a shift in customer preference toward online and digital banking. The group stated that when making changes to its branch network, it looks to understand the impact on customers and how they continue to access banking services.

To mitigate the loss of physical locations, the group maintains that customers can still access services through remaining branches, Community Bankers, the Post Office, PayPoint, and digital applications.
