Cockroach Janta Party Rejects Electoral Politics to Become Pressure Group

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) officially transitioned into a formal pressure group during a two-day core committee meeting in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar on August 5, 2026. Founder Abhijeet Dipke rejected the formation of a political party, citing a systemic decline in public trust toward the judiciary, media, and the election system. He stated that the organization will instead focus on a public movement to ensure institutional accountability, unemployment, and the government's E20 ethanol-blended fuel policy.

This strategic shift follows a 36-day student protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi over the NEET-UG paper leak, which contributed to the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on July 25. During the lead-up to the meeting, Dipke accused Home Minister Amit Shah and the Delhi Police of failing to prevent criminal infiltration during the protests, alleging a plan to defame the movement. He further challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make his degree public in exchange for the disclosure of Dipke's own financial and educational documents.

The CJP now aims to expand its national base through a listening tour and by supporting job aspirants protesting recruitment irregularities in Ranchi, Jharkhand. The organization, mentored by environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk, is currently seeking the withdrawal of FIRs against student protesters and providing them with legal and medical assistance.
