Fresenius Medical Care Reports 23% Operating Income Growth in Q2
Fresenius Medical Care reported a 23% increase in second-quarter operating income and reaffirmed its flat revenue growth outlook for the full year 2026.
Fresenius Medical Care reported a 23% increase in second-quarter 2026 operating income, excluding special items, reaching EUR 569 million with margins expanding to 11.7%. The company recorded a total profit of EUR 218 million, or EUR 0.81 per share, a slight decrease from the EUR 225 million reported in the same period last year. Revenue grew 1.4% to EUR 4.861 billion, while adjusted earnings reached EUR 303 million.
Management attributed the growth to organic revenue increases and the execution of its FME Reignite strategy. Key operational updates include the rollout of the 5008X CAREsystem across 227 clinics in the United States and the exit of approximately 100 U.S. clinics as part of a footprint optimization. In China, the company faced headwinds from stricter tender requirements and volume-based procurement.
Fresenius Medical Care reaffirmed its full-year 2026 outlook, expecting revenue growth to remain broadly flat and operating income to stay within a range of positive and negative mid-single digit percent growth. The company is continuing its FME25+ transformation program, targeting EUR 1.2 billion in savings by the end of 2027, and is executing a EUR 1 billion share buyback program.
