China Records 15.4 Million Border Crossings During National Day
The National Immigration Administration reported a 6.7 percent increase in passenger crossings during the National Day holiday, totaling 15.462 million trips.
The National Immigration Administration recorded 15.462 million inbound and outbound passenger crossings during the seven-day National Day holiday, a 6.7 percent increase compared to the previous year. The agency reported an average of 2.209 million crossings per day, with travel peaking on October 4 at 2.397 million crossings.
Outbound travel by Chinese mainland residents grew by 9.3 percent to 4.444 million. Inbound crossings by foreign citizens rose 5.4 percent to 682,000. Of those foreign arrivals, 505,000 entered the country under visa-free policies, representing a 9.2 percent increase over the same period last year.
