Spin Master Cofounder Ronnen Harary Urges Early Entrepreneurship

Ronnen Harary advocates for starting businesses in one's 20s to leverage high energy and reduced competition from industry peers.

Ronnen Harary, cofounder of the children's entertainment company Spin Master, argues that the 20s are the ideal decade to launch a business. In a Q&A with Business Insider, Harary stated that younger entrepreneurs possess higher energy and a greater willingness to take risks compared to those starting later in life.

Harary contends that entrepreneurs in their 20s face less competition and are more likely to receive support from industry veterans. He contrasts this with the experience of those starting in their 30s, whom peers may view as direct competition. Harary detailed these perspectives in his book, "No Experience Necessary: Why Betting on Yourself in Your Twenties Is the Best Decision You'll Ever Make."

Having cofounded Spin Master at age 23 with partners Anton Rabie and Ben Varadi, Harary highlighted the importance of formal education despite the prevalence of college dropouts in the startup world. He noted that attending the University of Western Ontario was essential to his success, as the institution provided the environment where he and his cofounders first connected.
