India and U.S. Diaspora Mobilize Aid for Venezuela Earthquakes

India and Venezuelan communities in the United States are delivering medical supplies and humanitarian aid following earthquakes that killed over 3,300 people in Venezuela.

Following twin earthquakes of magnitude 7.5 and 7.2 that struck Venezuela's northern coast on June 24, international relief efforts have mobilized to address a humanitarian crisis. The disasters caused 3,342 deaths, injured 16,470 people, and left more than 17,000 homeless, with La Guaira being the hardest-hit state.

India has launched Operation Amistad, deploying an Army Field Hospital and donating two BHISHM cubes to support the country's damaged medical infrastructure. Acting President Delcy Rodriguez thanked India and other nations for their solidarity, stating the country will be reborn.

Simultaneously, Venezuelan communities across the United States have organized extensive grassroots support. In Florida, the Centro Comunitario Amor, Fe y Esperanza dispatched over 40 truckloads of aid, while organizations in Missouri, including VenMundo, shipped an 18-wheeler containing 72 pallets of supplies. Efforts also extended to Indiana and Hawaii, where local business owners and volunteers collected hundreds of boxes of food, clothing, and medical supplies. Organizers in these regions have urged donors to use legitimate groups like World Central Kitchen to avoid fraudulent organizations and corrupt officials.
