Ivorian Air Force Chief Visits New Delhi for Defence Talks

Major General Koffi N'Guessan Alfred, Chief of Air Staff of the Cote d'Ivoire Air Force, visited New Delhi on July 27, 2026, to advance bilateral defence cooperation. During the visit, Alfred met with Indian Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh and Air Chief Marshal A P Singh to discuss military-to-military engagement and specific collaborations to improve the capabilities of the Ivorian Air Force.

Upon his arrival at the Air Headquarters, Alfred received a ceremonial Guard of Honour. He also visited the National War Memorial to pay tribute to fallen Indian soldiers. The engagement is part of a broader diplomatic relationship between the two nations that includes cooperation on counter-terrorism, the International Solar Alliance, and mutual support within international organizations.

Beyond military ties, officials recently explored the implementation of India's Digital Public Infrastructure in Cote d'Ivoire, specifically focusing on the adoption of the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) and Aadhaar systems.
