Smiths Group shares rose 4.6% in early European trading on Tuesday following the release of fiscal-year results that surpassed analyst expectations. For the year ending July 31, the U.K. industrial-engineering company generated 1.94 billion pounds in revenue from continuing operations, marking a 1.2% organic increase.
Headline operating profit reached 399 million pounds with a margin of 20.6%, beating the 20.2% margin forecast. The company provided a positive outlook for fiscal 2027, projecting organic revenue growth of approximately 4% and a headline operating profit margin of around 21%.
Analysts at Jefferies noted that the company's Flex-Tek business is currently benefiting from positive pricing trends. They attributed this performance to specific growth drivers within the aerospace and data center sectors.
