Leroy Merlin Romania has allocated a 24.5 million euro investment budget for 2026 to expand its physical store network, upgrade IT infrastructure, and accelerate digitalization. Marking 15 years of operation in the country, the retailer plans to open two new stores in Brăila and Bistrița by the end of 2026, with an additional opening scheduled for Galați in 2027. The company currently operates 25 stores across 16 cities and reported 2025 revenues of 3.74 billion RON.
Investment priorities focus on enhancing an omnichannel shopping model and expanding a digital marketplace that currently hosts 55 partner sellers and over 75,000 products. CEO Mathieu Bauduin stated that the company has built a model allowing customers to complete projects in-store, online, or remotely, while maintaining an Everyday Low Price model to address concerns regarding purchasing power.
Sustainability initiatives include the launch of an Energy Saving online hub, the use of 100% certified timber, and the installation of solar panels to cover 28% of the company's energy needs. Additionally, employees are participating in the ALL ADEO program, which provides free shares to eligible staff through the company's parent organization.
