EHRC Investigates Reform UK Over Racist and Misogynistic Remarks

The Equality and Human Rights Commission is investigating Reform UK after an undercover documentary captured party members making racist and misogynistic comments.

The Equality and Human Rights Commission has written to Reform UK to investigate potential breaches of the Equality Act 2010. The inquiry follows an ITV undercover documentary, 'Undercover: A Year in Reform', which recorded party councillors and candidates making racist and misogynistic remarks.

Footage from the program showed Alan Feeney, a councillor and deputy mayor of Solihull, describing Asian homeowners as "parasites" and asserting that only 1% of the British population should be non-white. Other candidates were recorded calling for the death of King Charles and making sexual comments about female colleagues. Reform MP Sarah Pochin characterized the party as "chauvinistic."

Reform UK has denied any wrongdoing, stating that there is no room for racism within the organization. The party has reported ITV and its reporters to the police and has threatened civil legal action against the broadcaster.
