Malaysia Aviation Group to Acquire Airbus Unit Sepang Aircraft Engineering

Malaysia Aviation Group, the parent company of Malaysia Airlines, signed a sale and purchase agreement on October 1, 2026, to acquire Sepang Aircraft Engineering from Airbus SE. The acquisition aims to strengthen the group's engineering and maintenance capabilities while expanding its services portfolio to increase third-party revenue as part of a long-term business plan.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The deal is targeted for completion in 2027, pending customary conditions and mandatory approval from the civil aviation authority of Malaysia.
