McLaren to End 750S Production in 2027
McLaren Automotive is phasing out the 750S supercar by 2027 to make room for a new hybrid-assisted V6 replacement.
McLaren Automotive confirmed that production of the 750S supercar will end in 2027. The company is currently accepting final orders for the model, which starts at $365,100. The 750S, an evolution of the 2017 720S, features a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 740 horsepower and a dry weight of 2,815 pounds.
To mark the conclusion of this lineage, which also included the 765LT, the company released the 788HS. This limited-edition variant is restricted to 200 units and features an aggressive aero package and an upgraded engine delivering 777 horsepower.
The phase-out occurs as rivals shift toward hybrid powertrains and McLaren undergoes a corporate transformation, including a rebranding and plans for a super-SUV. The company also plans to discontinue the hybrid Artura model in 2028. Both vehicles will be replaced by a new model, referred to internally as the P34, which is expected to feature a twin-turbocharged hybrid V6 engine producing over 800 horsepower. This new model may be revealed as early as next year or by 2027.
Chief Commercial Officer Henrik Wilhelmsmeyer stated the 750S represents everything that defines a McLaren supercar and "will leave behind an extraordinary legacy."
