Anicut Capital Launches ₹175 Crore Grand Anicut Seed Fund
Anicut Capital launched the Grand Anicut Seed Fund to invest ₹5 crore to ₹8 crore each in over 20 deeptech and enterprise startups.
Anicut Capital launched the Grand Anicut Seed Fund (GASF), an early-stage equity vehicle targeting a corpus of ₹175 crore with an additional ₹75 crore greenshoe option. The Chennai-based firm intends to invest in more than 20 startups ranging from pre-seed to Series A stages, focusing on deeptech, enterprise technology, consumer, and financial services sectors.
Investment ticket sizes for the fund will range between ₹5 crore and ₹8 crore. The firm has already closed three deals using GASF and is pursuing a first close with capital from institutional investors, high-net-worth individuals, and both domestic and foreign family offices.
This second fund builds upon the strategy of the Grand Anicut Angel Fund, which has backed 68 startups since 2021. Partner Ajay Anand stated that the firm has developed a time-tested investment playbook for these sectors, while cofounder IAS Balamurugan noted that the fund is part of a larger ₹3,000-crore programme.
