India Rescues 158 Nationals and Deploys Relief to Nepal

The Ministry of External Affairs of India confirmed the rescue of 158 Indian nationals following devastating floods in Nepal. India has dispatched four flights of assistance to the Himalayan nation, with the most recent delivery providing 11 tonnes of relief supplies, including search-and-rescue equipment, hygiene kits, and blankets.

Rescue operations are currently focused on hydropower sites in Chilime and Langtang. An Indian tunnel rescue team, working alongside the Nepali Army, established a foothold at the Chilime tunnel and probed 185 meters deep into the Langtang tunnel despite inclement weather.

In Kathmandu, India deployed a specialized forensics team to coordinate DNA analysis and protocol optimization. This team is working in conjunction with Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital and the Nepal Police's Forensic Science Laboratory to identify victims of the disaster.
