Aylo Restores Pornhub Access for Age-Verified iOS Users in Australia

Aylo restored Pornhub access for age-verified iOS users in Australia, advocating for Apple's device-level filters as a global standard for child safety.

Aylo, the parent company of Pornhub, has restored platform access for iOS users in Australia who have verified their age through Apple's local verification process. The company had previously blocked the site in Australia in March to avoid the burden of local laws requiring users to provide personal data, such as facial scans and identification, directly to platforms.

Aylo argues that Apple's device-level filters are superior to platform-level requirements because they protect minors without forcing adults to surrender personal information to multiple websites. The company also noted that these device-level protections are more difficult to bypass using VPNs. This move follows a similar restoration of access in the United Kingdom after Apple updated its child safety features in March.

Aylo is now calling on Google and Microsoft to implement similar solutions and urging Apple to expand these device-level protections globally. Alex Kekesi, Aylo's vice president of brand and community, praised Apple for prioritizing child safety and stated that the responsibility now lies with platforms to pursue solutions that protect children across the internet.
