Audi Unveils Q9 and SQ9 Full-Size Luxury SUVs

Audi launched the Q9 and high-performance SQ9 SUVs in New York, targeting the North American luxury market with its largest and most luxurious vehicles to date.

Audi has introduced the 2027 Q9 and high-performance SQ9, the largest and most luxurious SUVs in the brand's history. Unveiled in New York, the vehicles are designed primarily for the North American market to compete with the BMW X7, Mercedes-Benz GLS, and Cadillac Escalade. The Q9 is a full-size three-row vehicle measuring 5.31 meters in length, offering six- or seven-passenger configurations and a 16-square-foot panoramic sunroof.

Audi equipped the standard Q9 with a 429-hp 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6, while the SQ9 features a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 producing 591 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque, allowing a 0-60 mph acceleration of 3.8 seconds. Technological highlights include a triple-screen Digital Stage interior, automatic electric-assisted power doors, and a hands-free highway driving system functional up to 85 mph in the U.S., Canada, and Germany. The models also debut curved digital OLED taillights and Digital Matrix LED headlights in the U.S. market.

Production is underway in Bratislava, Slovakia, with U.S. deliveries scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026. Base pricing for the Q9 starts between $87,700 and $89,095, while the SQ9 is priced between $118,000 and $119,395. CEO Gernot Döllner characterized the new flagship as a shift toward vehicles becoming mobile living spaces.
