MercadoLibre Reports 41% Revenue Growth in Third Quarter
MercadoLibre reported a 41% year-on-year increase in net revenue and financial income for the third quarter of 2026 while planning a 20% fulfillment expansion.
MercadoLibre reported strong third-quarter 2026 results, with net revenue and financial income increasing 41% year-on-year on a foreign exchange-neutral basis. Following the report, the company announced plans to expand its fulfillment operations by 20% while prioritizing investments in its affiliate network and maintaining credit risk discipline.
Prior to the announcement, analysts had forecasted earnings of $9.34 per share on revenue of $10.69 billion. Investor attention focused on the company's ability to stabilize operating margins, which had fallen from 12.2% to 6.7% in the second quarter due to lower shipping thresholds and expanded credit offerings.
The company continues to face intensifying competition in Brazil from Shopee and other Chinese firms, including the introduction of four-hour delivery services in São Paulo. Additionally, MercadoLibre has had to manage currency volatility following the October 26 runoff victory of President Lula and consumer credit strain in Brazil, which represents over half of the company's 2025 revenue. In contrast, credit trends in Mexico and Argentina have remained stable or improved.
