Nvidia Corporation Builds AI Investment Portfolio Worth Billions
Nvidia Corporation expanded its strategic investments in AI infrastructure and software to boost net income and identify future acquisition targets.
Nvidia Corporation has established an internal artificial intelligence exchange-traded fund by expanding its strategic investments in AI infrastructure and software. As of the end of the second quarter, the company held stakes in six publicly traded firms, including CoreWeave, Arm Holdings, Applied Digital, Nebius Group, Recursion Pharmaceuticals, and WeRide. CoreWeave stands as the largest holding, valued at $3.96 billion, while Arm Holdings is the only profitable company among these public stakes.
Beyond public markets, the company's venture capital arm, NVentures, manages investments in 27 privately held startups. These private investments focus heavily on the healthcare sector, specifically AI-driven drug discovery.
This investment strategy has a direct material impact on the company's financial results. For the fiscal second quarter ending July 27, accounting gains from price changes in these holdings added approximately $2.2 billion to net income. This amount represents 8.5% of the total quarterly adjusted net income of $25.8 billion. Nvidia Corporation utilizes this portfolio not only for financial gain but also to identify potential future acquisition targets.
