Micron Technology Reports 379% Sales Surge and $35 Billion Buyback

Micron Technology reported a 379% year-over-year sales increase to $54.2 billion and announced a $35.16 billion share repurchase program starting in December.

Micron Technology reported fourth-quarter fiscal 2026 sales of $54.2 billion, a 379% increase year-over-year, with operating margins exceeding 80%. The growth is driven by unprecedented demand for G9 NAND nodes and 1-gamma DRAM, as AI data centers expand and advanced devices are adopted more widely.

To stabilize long-term revenue, the company secured 26 strategic customer agreements that cover more than 35% of projected sales through 2030. Leveraging a cash balance of $43.4 billion, the company announced a $35.16 billion share repurchase program scheduled to begin in December 2026.

Despite the financial gains, the company faces potential headwinds. These include competitive supply risks from China and the possibility that demand for high-bandwidth memory could drop if Nvidia Inc. accelerators undergo despec-ing.
