Aldi Recalls Ambiano Hairdryers Over Fire and Shock Risks
Aldi is recalling Ambiano Ionic Hairdryers sold in 2025 after safety regulators found the power cords pose risks of electric shock and fire.
Aldi issued an urgent recall for its Ambiano Ionic Hairdryer, model number 849855, after safety investigators determined the appliance fails to meet the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016. The recall affects units sold in black, white, yellow, and orange between August and September 2025.
The Office for Product Safety & Standards warned that the power cord may become damaged over time, which could expose live electrical parts or cause the unit to overheat. These faults create a high risk of electric shock or fire.
Aldi described the recall as a precautionary measure initiated by its supplier due to a technical fault. The retailer instructed customers to stop using the hairdryers immediately and return them to any store for a full refund.
