Motorola Launches Edge 70 Max with Qi2 Magnetic Charging

Motorola launched the Edge 70 Max flagship smartphone in India, Europe, and the UK, featuring a 7,100mAh battery and the new Qira AI assistant.

On July 15, 2026, Motorola launched the Edge 70 Max flagship smartphone in India, followed by releases in the UK and Europe on July 16. Positioned as the most powerful model in the Edge 70 series, the device targets power users and gamers with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and an ArcticMesh cooling system featuring a 5,500mm² vapor chamber. The phone departs from previous curved-screen designs, opting for a flat-edge aluminum frame and a 6.82-inch Quad HD+ LTPO AMOLED display with 7,000 nits peak brightness and a 144Hz refresh rate.

A central feature of the device is its 7,100mAh silicon-carbon battery, the largest in the Edge series, which supports 90W wired charging and 25W Qi2 magnetic wireless charging. The device runs Android 16 with Hello UX and introduces Motorola Qira, an AI assistant designed for cross-device connectivity between Motorola and Lenovo hardware. The camera system includes a 50MP Sony LYTIA 710 main sensor.

In India, the phone is priced at ₹54,999 for the 8GB RAM variant and ₹59,999 for the 12GB RAM variant, with sales beginning July 20 via Flipkart and other retail channels. In the UK and Europe, the device starts at £699.99 and €799.99, respectively. Motorola has not yet announced a release date for the United States market.
