Michigan Starts Early Voting and Minnesota DFL Endorses Peggy Flanagan

The Government of Michigan has commenced early in-person voting for the August 4 primary election. Residents may cast ballots at satellite sites and designated clerk's offices through August 2, a system implemented following a constitutional amendment approved in November 2022. The Michigan Voting Dashboard reports that more than 720,000 absentee ballots have already been returned.

In Minnesota, the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party conducted caucuses and a state endorsing convention to determine its U.S. Senate candidate. Peggy Flanagan secured the party endorsement during the process, which saw significant participation from first-time and young voters. Representative Angie Craig withdrew from the endorsement process shortly before the convention took place. Minnesota voters are now encouraged to register for the upcoming primary election on August 11.
