Morocco and Bahrain Coordinate on Strait of Hormuz Security

Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani discussed regional stability and freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita of Morocco and Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani of Bahrain held a telephone call to discuss regional security and stability. The two officials focused on maintaining freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and coordinating responses to regional challenges to advance Arab cooperation.

This diplomatic exchange builds on a series of prior engagements, including meetings in Amman and the sixth session of the Morocco-Bahrain Joint High Commission held in Laayoune in February. During that session, the two governments signed several agreements to strengthen bilateral ties. These deals cover agriculture, food security, social protection, customs cooperation, and diplomatic visa exemptions.
