Torsion Construction Collapses Into Administration With £303 Million Workload
Torsion Construction Limited ceased trading and entered administration, resulting in the redundancy of most of its 115 employees.
Leeds-based Torsion Construction Limited has ceased trading after collapsing into administration. Joint administrators James Clark and Howard Smith of Interpath were appointed on July 29 to manage the wind-down of operations, leading to the redundancy of the majority of the company's 115 employees.
Founded in 2015, the firm specialized in residential and living sector developments and had delivered £287 million in projects across Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, and York. At the time of its failure, the company still had £303 million worth of work under construction.
Interpath attributed the collapse to a broader market downturn and liquidity pressures. James Clark noted that the business faced immense challenges common across the sector, including rising input costs, contract margin pressure, and delayed capital events, which eventually exhausted the company's liquidity.
