Tencent Cloud Selects Regional Winners for AI Hackathon
Tencent Cloud hosted a Demo Day in Hong Kong to select three winning AI-powered game projects for the global finals of its AI CAN DO IT competition.
Tencent Cloud hosted the Hong Kong and Macau Demo Day of the 2026 AI CAN DO IT Game Development Hackathon on August 19, 2026. Ten finalist teams presented AI-powered projects designed for social good, cultural expression, and narrative innovation, utilizing tools such as CodeBuddy, WorkBuddy, and Miora. The projects addressed societal challenges, including silver-tech for aging populations and support for individuals with high-functioning autism.
Tencent Cloud selected three winning teams to represent the region at the Global Finals. The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology took first place with the project Anchor, followed by The University of Hong Kong in second place with Walking in Poetry, and Public Division in third place with LOONG SEASON.
The competition attracted more than 10,000 creators globally, resulting in over 1,000 project submissions from Southeast Asia, the Chinese Mainland, and the Hong Kong and Macau SARs. Hui Cai, the operations lead for the event, stated that the hackathon aims to help young people transform ideas based on real-world needs into impactful solutions.
