Cathie Wood Buys Nvidia, SpaceX, and Circle Internet Group
Cathie Wood purchased shares of Nvidia, SpaceX, and Circle Internet Group on August 5 amid falling valuations for the latter two firms.
Cathie Wood, CEO of Ark Invest, purchased shares of Nvidia, Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX), and Circle Internet Group on Wednesday, August 5, 2026. The move includes acquisitions of two "broken IPOs," as both SpaceX and Circle Internet Group have seen their valuations drop significantly from their peaks.
SpaceX stock has fallen to less than half of its peak following a mid-June IPO and a poorly received earnings call. During that call, SpaceX announced it will exclusively use Nvidia chips for its space-based data centers, a decision that helped drive a rally for Nvidia, which is currently the only company with a market cap exceeding $5 trillion.
Circle Internet Group, a stablecoin issuer, also saw its stock price fall below its original IPO price of $69. These investments occur during a difficult year for Ark Invest, with only one of the firm's six actively managed ETFs currently beating the market.
