Dele Momodu Endorses Ademola Adeleke for Osun Governorship

ADC chieftain Dele Momodu endorsed Governor Ademola Adeleke for a second term as Adeleke dismissed threats from federal and APC-aligned governors.

African Democratic Congress chieftain Dele Momodu endorsed Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke for a second term ahead of the August 15, 2026, governorship election. Momodu urged opposition parties to align behind Adeleke, who is running on the Accord Party platform, to prevent the All Progressives Congress (APC) from winning. He warned that splitting the opposition vote would provide the APC an "easy alibi to rig" the election and described the APC's influence in the region as having turned the state into a "theater of war."

Governor Ademola Adeleke responded to the political climate during an Arise Townhall Meeting, asserting that he is not intimidated by the Federal Government or state governors supporting the APC candidate. Describing himself as a "bulldozer," Adeleke stated that the presence of opposing governors would not determine the election outcome.

Additionally, Adeleke dismissed allegations that his administration militarized Osun State. He argued that he lacks the constitutional authority to deploy the armed forces, noting that he is not the Commander-in-Chief.
