Eight Nations Condemn Israeli Settler Violence in West Bank
Foreign ministers from eight Arab and Islamic nations issued a joint statement condemning Israeli settler attacks on mosques and calling for a sovereign Palestinian state.
Foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Indonesia, Pakistan, Egypt, and Türkiye issued a joint statement on June 18, 2026, condemning escalating settler violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank. The group of ministers specifically highlighted attacks on the Grand Mosque in Jiljilya and the Al-Farouq Mosque in Mazar’a al-Nubani, north of Ramallah, describing the actions as violations of international humanitarian law.
The joint statement holds Israel responsible for the violence and warns that illegal measures in the territory fuel extremism and instability. The ministers called on the international community to compel Israel to end these attacks and ensure that perpetrators are held accountable.
Additionally, the nations reaffirmed their support for a two-state solution based on the Arab Peace Initiative. They advocated for the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state based on 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem serving as its capital.
