Apple Launches HomeView Smart Display for $299

Apple announced the HomeView smart home display featuring Siri AI and personalized user recognition, launching November 13 in the United States.

Apple Inc. announced the HomeView, a 7-inch smart home display designed to compete with the Amazon Echo Show and Google Nest Hub. The device will launch on November 13 in tabletop and wall-mounted versions with a pre-order price of $299.

HomeView features a Liquid Retina display and a domed aluminum speaker base. It integrates Siri AI for conversational assistance and uses its camera to recognize up to six different users, allowing the device to provide personalized home screens and sync data from iPhones. The display also supports Handoff for transitions between devices and includes a specialized cooking mode for recipes.

While the device works with Matter and the Apple Home Collection—developed in partnership with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric—it lacks compatibility with Ring and Nest doorbells. The device will not be available in the European Union because Siri AI is currently unavailable in that region.
