Samsung Unveils Galaxy Buds On Open-Ear Earphones
Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Buds On clip-on earphones in South Korea, featuring Galaxy AI and a design focused on situational awareness for outdoor activities.
Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Buds On in South Korea, marking the company's first entry into the clip-on, open-ear earphone market. The device is designed for users seeking situational awareness during workouts and outdoor activities, utilizing a clip-style band and a wide contact area to minimize pressure on the ear.
The earphones are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon S7 Gen 1 Sound Platform and a Class-D amplifier, delivering 9.5 hours of playback on a single charge. To mitigate the sound leakage and bass loss typical of open-ear hardware, the company integrated TwinBoost speakers and Audio Leakage Reduction technology.
Integration of Galaxy AI allows the earbuds to support Gemini Live and head-gesture controls for managing notifications and calls. Additionally, a bone conduction-based vibration sensor helps filter background noise during voice calls. The Galaxy Buds On will launch in South Korea on October 27 for approximately $220, with a phased global rollout to follow.
