Israeli Forces and Settlers Seize Homes Across West Bank

Israeli military forces and settlers demolished homes, displaced families, and conducted raids across the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem on Wednesday.

The Israeli military and settlers carried out a series of demolitions, forced displacements, and raids across the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem on July 23, 2026. In the Bethlehem governorate, soldiers demolished five inhabited homes in Nahalin and Za’tara, using gas bombs and concussion grenades that caused inhalation injuries. These actions followed a court decision to reject a petition to halt demolitions in Nahalin, where six residents were also abducted.

In Jalud, south of Nablus, settlers seized the home of Mahmoud al-Tubasi after three months of harassment, which included setting the house on fire and establishing an illegal outpost. The family was forcibly displaced after Israeli forces implemented a blockade of food, water, and medicine, and cut off electricity several days prior to the takeover.

Additional operations included the demolition of a home, a carwash, and two livestock farms in Rafat, northwest of Jerusalem. Military forces also conducted raids in Qabatiya, south of Jenin, seized a water tanker in the northern Jordan Valley, and detained a Palestinian man in Hizma, East Jerusalem. Palestinian officials state that an intensified campaign in the West Bank since October 2023 has resulted in at least 1,181 deaths and nearly 24,000 arrests, while monitoring groups report 341 demolition operations affecting 923 residents in the first half of 2026.
