Blake Lively Shuts Down Betty Buzz Beverage Business

Blake Lively is winding down her Betty Buzz and Betty Booze beverage brands following a legal battle with director Justin Baldoni and retail partner concerns.

Actress Blake Lively is shutting down her beverage business, which includes the non-alcoholic mixer brand Betty Buzz and the canned cocktail line Betty Booze. The decision follows a period of intense controversy stemming from the 2024 promotional tour for the film It Ends With Us and a subsequent legal battle with the film's director, Justin Baldoni.

Evidence of the business decline includes dormant social media accounts and abandoned trademark applications for expanded product lines, such as beer-based drinks. Internal communications reveal that retail partners, including Kroger and Princess Cruises, expressed concerns that Lively's public image would negatively impact sales.

The closure follows a legal dispute in which Lively sued Baldoni and his production company, Wayfarer, alleging sexual harassment and retaliation. Baldoni denied the claims, asserting Lively sought creative control of the film. The parties settled in May 2026, which included the dismissal of a $400 million countersuit filed by Baldoni against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist. In August, Baldoni was ordered to pay approximately $400,000 to $410,000 of Lively's legal fees.

Unsealed court documents recently revealed texts from Ryan Reynolds criticizing the public narrative of the conflict and describing Baldoni as a predator and sociopath. The company has not officially confirmed if the controversy directly caused the closure.
