Mirova Invests EUR 150 Million in Yanara Renewable Energy
Mirova invested EUR 150 million in Yanara to develop over 2 GW of renewable energy infrastructure across Victoria, New South Wales, and Western Australia.
Renewable energy developer Yanara secured a EUR 150 million investment from Mirova, an affiliate of Natixis Investment Managers. This capital marks the company's first dedicated capital raise in Australia and will fund the development of over 2 GW of multi-technology renewable energy infrastructure across Western Australia, New South Wales, and Victoria.
A primary focus of the investment is the Mortlake Energy Hub in Victoria. This hybrid project combines 450 MW of solar capacity with a 600 MW / 2,400 MWh battery energy storage system. The hub is designed to power approximately 200,000 homes and avoid 880,000 tons of carbon emissions annually, with its first construction phase expected to create over 300 jobs.
The funding supports Yanara's broader global portfolio, which currently includes 5.1 GW of projects across the Philippines, India, and Australia. Mirova executives described the investment as a commitment to supporting critical infrastructure necessary for Australia's transition to a low-carbon energy system as coal-fired power plants are decommissioned.
