Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada invited 1,000 skilled workers for permanent residence through a selective Canadian Experience Class draw on August 18.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada invited 1,000 candidates to apply for permanent residence on August 18, 2026. The Express Entry draw specifically targeted the Canadian Experience Class, which is designed for skilled foreign workers who have completed at least one year of qualifying work experience in Canada within the last three years.

To receive an invitation in this round, candidates needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System score of 523. This draw was more selective than the August 5 round, which issued 3,000 invitations with a lower score requirement of 516.

Minister of Citizenship and Immigration Lena Metlege Diab signed the ministerial instructions for the draw, directing that invitations be issued between August 18 and August 19.
