Humans First Launches Nationwide AI Data Center Revolt Tour

The activist group Humans First is conducting a 34-stop nationwide bus tour titled the AI Data Center Revolt to demand stronger guardrails and transparency regarding the expansion of AI data centers. Led by former Tea Party leader Amy Kremer, the tour began in Dallas, Texas, during the Republican National Convention and is scheduled to conclude in Silicon Valley in October.

During stops in Boyce, Louisiana, on September 12 and Bessemer, Alabama, on September 14, protesters argued that taxpayers should not fund data center construction. The group specifically demands that government officials be prohibited from signing non-disclosure agreements during project negotiations to prevent secrecy in infrastructure deals. While organizers state they are not opposed to AI or data centers themselves, they condemn what they describe as a tech takeover and insist that local communities must have a voice before deals are finalized.

The tour is scheduled to reach Washington, D.C., by September 16. In Louisiana, the group highlighted projects by Applied Digital and Meta, while local representatives criticized officials for failing to provide answers to community questions regarding the impact of these facilities.
