China Modernizes Manufacturing Through Green Transition and AI

China is advancing economic growth through the green transition and digitization of its traditional manufacturing sectors. This industrial shift is characterized by the proliferation of over 65,000 smart factories, with national-level green factories now contributing more than one-fifth of the country's total manufacturing output value.

Hengli Heavy Industry has expanded its presence in the gas carrier segment by signing contracts for six ammonia carriers. The company also developed a domestic high-power LNG dual-fuel marine engine, a move intended to stabilize the national supply chain and reduce dependence on imported marine engines.

In other sectors, the HBIS Group Shisteel Company in Shijiazhuang replaced traditional blast furnaces with electric arc furnaces utilizing 100-percent scrap steel, which reduced key pollutant emissions by 75 percent. Meanwhile, the cable industry in Ningjin County has adopted the AI-driven Yilanwang platform to digitize supply chains. This integration has streamlined bank financing for local firms, enabling Hongliang Cable Co., Ltd. to secure a contract for high-speed railway infrastructure.
