David Tepper Shifts AI Bets From Micron to TSMC

David Tepper reduced Appaloosa's stake in Micron Technology by 41% while increasing its position in TSMC for a sixth consecutive quarter.

David Tepper, founder of the investment fund Appaloosa, shifted the fund's artificial intelligence holdings during the second quarter ending in June. According to Form 13F filings, Tepper reduced Appaloosa's position in Micron Technology by 41%, selling 690,000 shares. This divestment follows a period of significant growth for Micron, with shares rising approximately 1,300% since mid-2023.

While cutting its Micron stake, Appaloosa increased its position in Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) by 24%, purchasing 322,500 additional shares. This represents the sixth consecutive quarter that the fund has expanded its holdings in TSMC, citing the company's dominant share of the global foundry market and its central role in AI infrastructure.
