Oman Real Estate Transactions Rise 5.4% in First Half 2026

Oman's real estate market saw total transaction values grow to RO 1.43 billion in early 2026, driven by rising sales contracts and foreign direct investment.

Oman's real estate market showed resilience during the first half of 2026, with total transaction values increasing 5.4% year-on-year to RO 1.43 billion. Data from the National Centre for Statistics and Information and a report by Savills indicate that growth was primarily fueled by a 12.2% rise in sales contract values, which totaled RO 688 million. Foreign direct investment in the sector also expanded, reaching RO 602.5 million by the end of the first quarter.

While total mortgage values dipped slightly by 0.3% to RO 740.20 million, the volume of mortgage transactions grew by 25.7%. This activity persists despite a modest economic slowdown in early 2026. The medium-term outlook remains positive, with Oxford Economics forecasting GDP growth of 6.3% in 2027 and 7.1% in 2028.

Market expansion is supported by continued government investment in infrastructure and the strategic development of ports in Salalah, Duqm, and Suhar. These developments aim to establish Oman as a regional logistics hub, bolstering investor confidence in the property sector.
