Coca-Cola Seeks to Sell Costa Coffee Chain

The Coca-Cola Company is seeking to sell Costa Coffee, reversing its 2018 acquisition of the British coffeehouse chain for 5.1 billion dollars. The company originally purchased the business to expand its portfolio of healthier beverage options.
This current divestment effort follows a failed attempt to sell the chain earlier this year. That process collapsed after offers from private equity firms fell below the company's expectations. While at least one strategic acquirer considered a deal, they ultimately declined due to valuation and strategic concerns.
Coca-Cola has not yet disclosed a target price for the current sale and did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
