Deere & Co. Launches JD AI Assistant for Farmers

Deere & Co. launched an AI assistant named JD, integrated into the company's Operations Center mobile application. The tool allows farmers to analyze field-specific data from planting, treatment, and harvesting to inform economic decisions, such as optimizing fertilizer use.

Deanna Kovar, worldwide president of agriculture and turf at Deere, described the chatbot as a researcher and data analyst for the farmer. She stated that the tool is designed to help growers make sense of data and increase efficiency across the hundreds of decisions that matter throughout a growing season.

To address privacy concerns, the company released a farmer data commitment. This policy asserts that growers maintain control of their information and that Deere does not sell the data. The JD assistant is currently free for app users, with broader availability planned for later this year.
