Louisiana DOTD Closes I-49 Northbound Lane for Maintenance

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development will close the outside right lane of northbound I-49 at Exit 241, near Mira-Myrtis Road in north Caddo Parish, on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. The closure is scheduled to occur between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm to facilitate roadway maintenance activities.

Traffic is expected to slow in the area, but the exit ramp will remain open and no detours are required. The department confirmed that previously permitted oversize loads will be accommodated through the work zone. Officials noted that the maintenance schedule remains subject to change depending on weather conditions.
