Israel Defense Forces Kill Two Hamas Operatives in Gaza

The Israel Defense Forces eliminated two Hamas Nukhba terrorists in separate precision strikes in northern Gaza on September 14 and 15, 2026. The targets were Yusuf Saad Al-Din Rashad Zaim, a commander in Hamas' military wing, and Sharif Shadi Ibrahim Labad, an operative who participated in the October 7 massacre at the Erez Crossing. The military stated both men were planning attacks against Israeli civilians and soldiers and were working to rebuild Hamas' military capabilities in violation of the ceasefire.

During the operation targeting Labad on Salah Khalaf Street in Gaza City, the military conducted a double-tap strike. An initial explosion wounded Labad, and as bystanders rushed to assist him, an Israeli drone released a glide bomb that killed a teenager, Mohammad Abdul Zinati.

The military identified Labad as a paramedic and a member of the elite Nukhba forces. While the military stated the incident is under review, weapons experts suggested the death of the teenager may have been avoidable given the redirection capabilities of the drones used. The military expressed regret for the harm caused to uninvolved individuals.
