Amazon to Invest $100 Million in Indiana Robotics Plant

Amazon will invest more than $100 million to construct a 585,000-square-foot advanced manufacturing plant at 1175 Collins Road in Greenwood, Indiana. Scheduled to begin operations by 2028, the facility will produce equipment for the company's North American fulfillment and robotics networks using AI-powered smart manufacturing, robotic welding, fabrication, and automated powder coating.

The project is expected to create 300 skilled manufacturing and engineering positions, including CNC operators, with average annual salaries nearing $100,000. This expansion supports a U.S.-built robot fleet that has exceeded one million units and currently assists with 75% of customer orders across more than 300 global facilities.

Mayor Mark W. Myers welcomed the investment, noting that the project brings long-term value to the community. The new plant increases Amazon's footprint in Indiana, where the company has operated since 2008 and has invested over $40 billion to date.
