AMD Targets 50% Cloud CPU Market With Agentic AI

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. is utilizing the growth of agentic AI to capture nearly 50% of the cloud CPU market on a revenue basis by the end of 2026. At the AMD Advancing AI 2026 event, Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. announced the development of the next-generation EPYC Venice processor, featuring up to 256 cores and a 1.7-fold performance increase to handle autonomous agent workloads. Steve Berg, corporate vice president and general manager of the server CPU Cloud Business Group, attributed this strategy to a focus on total cost of ownership and an open ecosystem that avoids vendor lock-in, though he noted that memory market constraints currently limit shipping speeds.

Simultaneously, the company expanded its AMD Robotics Partner Network by adding Nota AI and the Digital Twin Consortium. This initiative focuses on physical AI, integrating embedded, edge, and cloud environments. Nota AI will provide model compression to address power and memory constraints, while the Digital Twin Consortium will develop frameworks to link physical AI with digital twins. Additionally, AMD showcased a collaboration with MulticoreWare, Inc. to implement real-time multimodal Vision-Language-Action workflows on Ryzen AI Embedded platforms, moving robotic systems from prototypes to production deployment.
