Ithaca Holdings in Talks to Buy Bumble for $1 Billion
Ithaca Holdings is in advanced talks to take Bumble private in a deal valuing the dating app at approximately $1 billion.
Bumble shares surged Monday following reports that the company is in advanced talks to go private in a deal valuing the business at approximately $1 billion. The potential buyer is Ithaca Holdings, a technology investment firm founded by Silicon Valley executives Ravi Gupta and John Hegeman, which intends to integrate artificial intelligence into its investments.
The reported valuation represents a significant premium over Bumble's recent market value, which sources estimate between $335 million and $389 million. Founder and CEO Whitney Wolfe Herd is expected to remain involved with the company and roll at least part of her stake into the transaction.
The acquisition comes as Bumble struggles with slowing growth and declining user engagement. The company reported that paying users fell by more than 11% in 2025. A final deal could be reached as early as this week.
