SCO Condemns Military Strikes on Iran and Urges UN Action

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization issued a statement on March 2, 2026, expressing grave concern over military strikes and armed attacks conducted on Iranian territory. The organization condemned the use of force as unacceptable and called for the protection of Iran's sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.
Member states advocated for the resolution of existing differences through peaceful means, emphasizing dialogue and mutual respect in accordance with international law and the UN Charter. The organization urged all involved parties to exercise restraint to prevent the situation from deteriorating further.
The SCO called upon the United Nations and the UN Security Council to take immediate action to address threats to international peace and security. In addition to expressing solidarity with the government and people of Iran, the organization offered condolences to the families of those killed in the attacks.
