Kithure Kindiki Pledges to Remain Ruto's 2027 Running Mate
Deputy President Kithure Kindiki announced his intention to remain President William Ruto's running mate in the 2027 general election.
Deputy President Kithure Kindiki declared his intention to remain the running mate of President William Ruto in the 2027 general election. Speaking during the 11th Annual Meru Dairy Farmers' Field Day and the opening of the Meru Maziwa Millers Animal Feeds Factory, Kindiki dismissed the ambitions of other political rivals seeking the position.
Kindiki urged residents and leaders of the Mt Kenya region to maintain political unity, arguing that re-electing Ruto is necessary to complete ongoing agricultural and infrastructure projects. He specifically highlighted the Sh500 million investment in the dairy feeds factory as a reason for continuity. While committing to the 2027 ticket, Kindiki also declared his own intention to seek the presidency in 2032.
During the event, Governor Isaac Mutuma stated that the region could secure the presidency through Kindiki if residents support Ruto's re-election. Kindiki criticized opposition leaders for lacking a record of development compared to the current administration.
