Stirling-Rawdon Township Pledges Pothole Repairs After Driver Brain Injury
Stirling-Rawdon Township committed to temporary road patching after a driver suffered a brain bruise from a severe pothole on Foxboro-Stirling Road.
A driver suffered a brain bruise on June 30 after hitting a severe pothole on Foxboro-Stirling Road at the southern entrance to the village of Stirling. The driver reported that the roadway has become nearly impassable, creating significant safety risks for residents and emergency medical transport, particularly ambulance patients.
Following the incident, the driver contacted local authorities and confirmed that the damaged section is under the jurisdiction of Stirling-Rawdon Township. In response, township staff apologized and committed to performing temporary surface patching on the affected stretch of road.
Comprehensive rehabilitation is tied to a larger provincial investment. Ric Bresee, the Member of Provincial Parliament for Hastings-Lennox and Addington, previously announced that the Province of Ontario is investing up to $10,871,798 to rehabilitate water infrastructure and improve road safety. However, these permanent improvements are not scheduled for implementation until 2027.
