BJP Leader Condemns Hamid Ansari Over Hindu Extremism Remarks

BJP leader Karunasagar condemned former Vice President Hamid Ansari for claiming that Hindu right-wing communalism is more dangerous than communism. Karunasagar described the remarks as "shocking" and "shameful," arguing that Ansari ignored the thousands of security personnel and civilians killed by left-wing Maoist extremism. He demanded that Ansari retract his words and condemn all forms of terrorism, including Islamic and left-wing extremism, rather than targeting Hindu cultural resurgence.

Maulana Sajid Rashidi, president of the All India Imam Association, also responded to the comments. While asserting that Muslims should not feel like outsiders in India, Rashidi questioned the timing of the remarks. He suggested that Ansari is attempting to present himself as a leader of Muslims now that he has left office, noting that the former Vice President did not make similar statements while serving in his role.
