Suffolk County Council Closes Bures Road for Highway Repairs
Suffolk County Council will close Bures Road from November 9 to November 25 for major resurfacing and infrastructure improvements.
Suffolk County Council will close Bures Road from November 9 until November 25 to conduct major highway repair and maintenance works. The closure affects the section between the junctions of Head Lane and Mill Tye, which serves as a primary route for commuters traveling between north Essex and Colchester.
The project includes resurfacing, footway widening, and kerb realignment. The council will also install street lighting and a new zebra crossing during the 16-day period.
Because larger vehicles must utilize A roads, the official diversion route spans 28 miles. The council has advised drivers to plan ahead and allow for additional travel time during the closure.
